Trevor Davis sets up marketing and support firm

Former Barrhead Travel director Trevor Davis has set up a business agency offering marketing and support services to the travel industry.

Davis left Barrhead in January after eight months with the Scottish agency, during which time he set up its Brilliant Travel concept to enable it to expand into England.

Davis has established 3For with wife Mandy, who previously worked for Calluma, Travelworld and MyTravel, and Lesley Wilcock, who was involved in marketing campaigns for Brilliant Travel, Worldchoice and Shearings.

“I enjoyed my time at Barrhead but have decided to take a different direction,” he said.

“We have set up the business as one that can plug in to any travel agency, tour operator or tourist board to tackle specific projects. Lots of businesses don’t have the resources internally and it frustrates me that a lot of agents don’t promote themselves: they think it will cost an arm and a leg, or don’t know who to turn to, so they don’t bother.”

Services offered by 3For include point-of-sale material, advertising campaigns, roadshows, training events and mystery-shopping studies.

3For has five staff at offices in Leeds in addition to its three directors, plus a “network” of individuals to call on for specific projects.

Davis, who has previously held senior roles with Thomas Cook and The Co-operative Travel, plans talks with travel companies and agency consortia.

“We don’t believe anyone else offers all these services under one roof with our experience,” he said.
