Airtours alters sales structure

Airtours Holidays has restructured its sales team into regions headed by general managers to give greater autonomy to its sales staff.

The operator has moved from having two national accounts manager and a business development manager to establishing five general manager positions. They will be supported by a team of seven divisional managers.

Andy Crowe, formerly national accounts manager becomes general manager North and Scotland while Jane Atkins, national account manager retail, becomes general manager for the Midlands. Business development manager Helen Fitch has been appointed general manager for the South. Going Places area sales manager Sarah Melia has joined the tour operator as general manager integrated accounts to handle the in-house retailers Travelworld and Going Places.

The operator is also looking to appoint a sales office general manager based at Helmshore.
