First Choice: Building on its Familyplus brand launched in summer ’99, nine properties in Mediterranean resorts will offer family-entertainment programmes in 2000. Activities will include five-a-side football and It’s A Knockout-style competitions.
Thomson: It features 31 properties under the Superfamily brand which all offer Mothercare equipment for babies and entertainment and play areas for children of all ages.
Airtours: Products include Family First for young families, Suncenters for older families and kids’ clubs in selected resorts. Family First is available at 11 properties which offer creches, baby-sitting, and kids’ clubs while Suncenters offers an entertainments programme designed specifically for the UK family market.
Sunworld: A new family product is planned for next year but details have not yet been finalised. The operator already offers almost 100 kids’ clubs in resorts.
Unijet: the operator’s kids’ clubs feature branded Skwids Clubs. The operator has 16 in total for summer 2000 including new ones that will be opening in Majorca, Ibiza and Tenerife.
Cosmos: Kids’ clubs are available at 26 properties and are split into age groups with Starbugs for three to six-year-olds, Cosmos Cats for seven to 11-year-olds and In Zone for 12 to 15-year-olds. Cosmos Mega Clubs, which offer free creche places, are in the tour operator’s top four Cosmos properties in Spain – Jupiter/Saturno in Majorca, Club Princesa Playa in Minorca, Coral Playa in Ibiza and Cambrils Playa in Salou.
