Abta has announced that Mike Hoban, sales and marketing director at Thomas Cook, has joined its board.
Mark Tanzer, Abta chief executive, said the new addition of Hoban would prove a “real asset” due to his experience in marketing.
Tanzer said: “Mike is an outstanding addition to the board.
“He brings with him a wealth of experience in marketing and e-commerce from both within the travel industry and from other sectors.
“His skills span both online and offline marketing and he has an excellent track record in building strong brands and delivering growth, experience that will be a real asset to Abta.”
Hoban, sales, marketing and e-commerce director at Thomas Cook, joined the company in 2012. His responsibilities include defining and implementing Cook’s multi-channel marketing strategy.
Previously he held senior marketing roles at organisations including confused.com, Directgov and Scottish Widows.
Hoban said: “I am very pleased to join the board and hope I can be of service to Abta and its broad community of members.”
