British Airways and Virgin Atlantic have been named in the top 20 business superbrands for 2013.
BA was also the fourth out of 20 consumer superbrands, with Hilton in seventh position, Heathrow eighth and Disney in 16th place.
The league tables, based of marketing experts, business professionals an consumers, also saw Abta voted as a business superbrand for the seventh consecutive year but outside the top 20.
The association’s head of communications Victoria Bacon said: “This recognition of Abta’s enduring relevance and appeal among consumers is very important for our members to help them grow their businesses and reinforces our commitment to ensuring Abta maintains its position as the most respected association in the travel industry.
“Our own research shows that consumers recognise us for our high standards of expertise, reliability and fairness with an overall 79% brand awareness.”
