Browne and Lane Fox receive honours

Thomson Airways managing director Chris Browne and Martha Lane Fox, co-founder of lastminute.com, have been honoured in the Queen’s New Year list.


Browne (pictured) receives an OBE for services to aviation, while Lane Fox receives a CBE for services to the UK digital economy and to charity.


Others honoured in the list include Air Miles founder and deputy chairman of Locog Sir Keith Mills, who receives the Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the British Empire, and Helen Deeble, chief executive of P&O Ferries and president of the UK chamber of shipping, who receives a CBE.


Peter Marks, chief executive of the Co-operative Group, also receives a CBE for services to the retail trade.


Michael Wells, chairman of Lochs and Glens Holidays, receives an OBE for services to the tourism industry and charity, and Winifred Clark, deputy director-general, British Holiday and Home Parks Association, receives the same honour.


Francis Brady, managing director of Le Mon Hotel and Country Club, receives an MBE for services to tourism and hospitality in Northern Ireland, while Dianne Leeman, manager of Belfast City Tour Service, receives the same for services to local
government and tourism.


Robert Nicholson receives an MBE for services to tourism in Somerset.
