Tui Travel’s global accommodation wholesaler Hotelbeds is adding more than 100 hotels in Mexico and Latin America.
This comes as part of an extended strategic partnership with hotel company Grupo Posadas to further promote Mexico as a destination.
Grupo Posadas currently manages five brands in Mexico and South America: Live Aqua, Fiesta Americana Grand, Fiesta Americana, Fiesta Inn and One Hotels.
The company handles almost three million guests a year at its hotels.
All of the portfolio of 103 hotels are being made available via www.hotelbeds.com, giving Grupo Posadas access to an international client base of travel agents, airlines and tour operators, seeking accommodation from over 100 source markets.
Mexico currently represents about 35% of sales for Hotelbeds in the Latin America region and is particular popular with clients from Brazil, the US, Argentina, Colombia, the UK and Spain. The most popular resort is the Live Aqua Hotel in Cancun.
The company’s Latin American and Caribbean regional director Christian Kremers said: “This is an important deal for Hotelbeds as we continue to build our hotel portfolio in Mexico.
“We have an excellent relationship with Grupo Posadas and we are working closely together to achieve our ambitious growth targets for Mexico. In addition our Destination Services arm already has a local presence in Grupo Posadas hotels with tour desks providing transfers and excursions to customers.”
Grupo Posadas chief commercial officer Enrique Calderon added: “We have full confidence in our partnership with Hotelbeds to support the promotion of Mexico as a destination. There is already a strong bond between the two companies which we plan to develop further as we work together on the growth opportunities.”
Hotelbeds plans further expansion in the source markets and destinations of Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Colombia.
