Former Gatwick managing director Janis Kong is joining the Tui Travel board as a non-executive director.
She replaces Bill Dalton who has been a board member since the creation of the group in 2007.
A statement said: "Janis brings a wealth of experience to the group having had a 33-year career with BAA where she held numerous positions including managing director at Gatwick airport.
"Before leaving BAA in 2006, Janis was chairman of Heathrow airport for five years as well as the chairman of Heathrow Express.
Coline McConville has been appointed chairman of the remuneration committee on Dalton's retirement.
Senior independent director Sir Michael Hodgkinson said: "Bill has been a much valued member of the board and I would like to thank him for his efforts and significant contribution to both the First Choice Holidays and Tui Travel boards.
"I would also like to welcome Janis to the board. We look forward to her bringing her experience of both the corporate world and the aviation industry in particular to the group."
