The Freedom Travel Group has been confirmed by the CAA as an Accredited Body, as part of reforms to the Atol scheme that came in to force on Monday.
The Co-operative Travel-owned consortium is the fourth body to be approved, following Travel Counsellors, Global Travel Group and Hays Travel.
Alison Holmes, head of Freedom, said: “We are delighted to have become an Accredited Body and to know the CAA is supportive of all our processes.
“Freedom members have always had the benefit of full Atol protection by being part of the consortia and we’re pleased the members can continue to self package under the Atol reform.”
She added: “We’re experiencing a significant increase in enquiries from travel agents asking about the Atol protection currently extended to our members and following the confirmation that we are now an Accredited Body we welcome further enquiries from agents who are interested in joining the Freedom Travel Group.”
