Tipto raises more than £1,500 for Reuben’s Retreat

Tipto has raised more than £1,500 for its long-term charity partner, Reuben’s Retreat.

Despite the difficulties faced in 2020, the Tipto team, its suppliers and agents created charity prize draws and raffles as well as making individual donations.

Funds were raised at Tipto events held in late 2019 and early 2020. The trade organisation thanked all agents who donated and entered the charity raffle at each event. Prizes were donated by Tipto supplier members and included restaurant vouchers, shopping vouchers and more.

Reuben’s Retreat, founded in 2012 by travel industry professionals Nicola and Mike Graham after the death of their son Reuben from a rare brain tumour, has continued its support of families of children with life limiting or life threatening illnesses throughout the pandemic

Nicola Graham said: “We are thrilled to have Tipto continue to support our charitable efforts and want to thank everyone who has taken part in its fundraising activities or made a donation – it makes such a huge difference to the important work we do with families.

“In 2020, thanks to the charitable support from organisations such as Tipto, we have been able to deliver 2,384 hours of key support to our families – that’s a staggering five times the hours delivered throughout 2019.

“These hours include 529 one to one support sessions, 372 of which were bespoke counselling sessions, and 601 people attending group support activities. We have also arranged nine family breaks, when restrictions allowed, and safely delivered more than 800 bespoke gifts to families across the UK.”

Nick Hughes, Tipto chairman and Gold Medal sales director, said: “We are honoured to continue support the vital work that Reuben’s Retreat does for the families of children with life limiting and life-threatening illnesses. The dedication of Nicola and her team is incredible and we hope to be able to deliver more support as soon as things return to normal this year.

“Reuben’s is a charity that has always been close to Tipto’s heart and every team member and agent we’ve hosted this year has played an integral part in raising such a fantastic amount.”
