Winter sports added to Battleface travel insurance

A new winter sports add-on has been introduced to the Battleface travel medical insurance policies.

Cover will be provided for a range of activities including skiing, snowboarding and ice skating.

Benefits include up to £750 winter sports equipment cover and £300 per item for hired equipment.

Battleface policies cover medical and emergency expenses, hospital benefit, personal accident, baggage, personal money and passport and personal liability.

Policies are available for travellers up to the age of 79 and feature winter sports destinations, including those under Foreign Office advisories.

Cover includes emergency medical expenses caused by or resulting from Covid-19 for travellers up to a maximum age of 59.

However, the policies do not include cover in relation to Covid-19 expenses for trip cancellations, curtailment of a holiday or lockdowns including resort or piste closures.

Participation in winter sports in a professional capacity or on a competitive basis is specifically excluded.

Business development director Hugh King said: “We’ve helped thousands of tourists travel safely this summer and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

“We’re very pleased to develop our policies to give travellers continued peace of mind and even more confidence when making their travel plans this winter and moving into 2021.”
