Winners of two brand new Globe Travel Awards have thanked the trade for their support.
Attraction World won Best Trade Sales Team and Travel 2 won Best Trade Friendly Brand at the 2012 awards, both new categories added this year.
Tony Seaman, group sales and marketing director at Attraction World, said: “I’m over the moon. The sales guys have a great relationship with the trade – they are the personality of the company and for them to be rewarded is fantastic. The travel industry is a people business and companies need to be able to get their product out into the retail network, so if you’re a good company with a good sales team, you get good business. This is a great recognition of that.”
It was a double win for Attraction World, which also took home the gong for Best Add-Ons Provider.
Travel 2 sales, marketing and commercial director Gordon Mccreadie said the award for Best Trade Friendly Brand vindicated its trade-only policy. “As a company we have turned a massive corner and and our market is totally through agents. This totally vindicates our policy. We have got loads of innitatives in the pipeline. We want to reward the trade for their support over the last 30 years,” he said.
