Insurance partnership aims to boost confidence in travel to Africa

Travel insurance provider battleface has agreed a partnership with the African Travel and Tourism Association to help build confidence in travel to the continent.

ATTA members can work with battleface on their business and consumer travel insurance needs.

Battleface covers travellers to destinations in Africa, including regions under FCDO and government essential travel advisories.

This includes 24/7 access to on-the-ground field agents who can assist with emergencies, which include Covid-19 medical expenses for those aged 59 and under, coverage for medical evacuation and accidents, adventure sport and travel to isolated places.

ATTA members are buyers and suppliers of tourism products across 21 African countries.

The association has more than 630 members, covering accommodation, transport and travel specialists in Africa, as well as tour operators, representation and PR companies worldwide.

Hugh King, battleface UK and Europe business development director, said: “With Africa very much open for business, we look forward to being of service to their 600-plus members and supporting their objective of promoting tourism to Africa.”

Chris Mears, ATTA chief executive, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with battleface, introducing them to our global network of African travel and tourism specialists.

“The right travel insurance is essential in today’s environment to help re-build confidence and encourage travellers back to Africa.

“Battleface have worked in areas of the world where the FCDO and global government bodies advise against all but essential travel so are well versed in understanding today’s requirements.”
