The Travel Network Group creates Brexit factsheet for members

The Travel Network Group has created a factsheet for members outlining changes to travel to the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein from January 2021.

The two-page document covers changes for individuals and businesses as the UK leaves the EU, and applies to travel from January 1 onwards.

It follows the launch last week of a UK government campaign with the slogan “UK’s new start: let’s get going”.

The factsheet covers topics including passport validity, border control protocol, visas, driving licences and regulations and travel and health insurance.

Gary Lewis, TTNG chief executive, said:  “For the past five months the travel industry has been turned upside down by the Covid-19 crisis, and we’ve been supporting our members to stay afloat financially, whilst helping them negotiate a landslide of re-bookings and refunds – all in the face of constantly changing rules and regulations.

“Against this ever-changing backdrop, it is our role to cut through the information overload that our members are facing every day, to clarify and simplify the most important facts they need to know and pass on to their customers.”

Lewis added: “We’re starting to see positive signs for the industry, with many people starting to look to the future and book holidays and that is why enabling our members to help customers negotiate the changes in the way we travel post-Brexit is so important right now.”
