South African Tourism has launched a promotional campaign tracking four celebrities on their trips to the country.
My Mission will see Monty Don, Gloria Hunniford, Jamie Theakston and Chris Packham taking four different journeys and sharing their experiences on their return.
Four couples will have the chance to win their chosen celebrity’s mission and spend a day with them in South Africa.
Broadcaster Jamie Theakston’s mission combines adventure with luxury and sees him quad-biking in the coastal forest at Rocktail Beach Camp and game tracking at Phinda Private Game Reserve before heading for Durban for a bungee swing.
Gardener Monty Don’s itinerary encompasses some of the best of SA’s flora and fauna with visits to Harold Porter National Botanical Garden and Cape Town’s famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
His journey also takes him to Babylonstoren werf (farm yard) that has a garden with 300 varieties of edible plant.
Former Really Wild Show presenter Chris Packham will focus on nature while presenter Gloria Hunniford will be experiencing affordable luxury.
Each of the celebrity missions will be filmed and their experiences tweeted throughout their visits.
Matthew Armstrong, acting country manager, UK said “The campaign will highlight the diversity of the destination including outdoor adventure activities, scenic landscapes and natural wonder, culture and heritage, culinary experiences and wildlife encounters.
