Deadline extended for Just a Drop Dash fundraiser

Water aid charity Just a Drop and social enterprise Charitable Travel have extended the deadline for people to take part in the Just a Drop Dash – a fundraising initiative launched in partnership with Wendy Wu Tours.

The Just a Drop Dash encourages participants to run, walk, ramble or hop 100km – the same distance as a popular hiking route from Banteay Srei into the Phnom Kulen National Park in Cambodia, finishing at Angkor Wat.

Those who take part before August 31 and raise a minimum of £100 will be entered into a draw to win a holiday for two to Cambodia and Vietnam, courtesy of Charitable Travel and Wendy Wu Tours. Every additional £100 raised through JustGiving pages will qualify for an extra entry into the prize draw.

Donations made through the campaign will help people from remote communities across Asia, Africa and Latin America to access safe water and training about Covid-19, handwashing and soap-making to help vulnerable communities reduce the spread of the virus.

Speaking at the launch of the challenge on June 2, Just a Drop founder Fiona Jeffery said: “We are so looking forward to working closely with Charitable Travel and Wendy Wu Tours on this campaign.

“It’s a real opportunity for people to make a difference and show their support not only to the cause but also to the travel industry.”

Charitable Travel chief executive Melissa Tilling added: “Our social purpose is to support charity fundraising and we’re delighted to help launch this fabulous campaign on JustGiving, linking the joy of travel with a fun exercise challenge that will ultimately help people in need in one of our key destinations.”
