Shearings pauses new bookings ‘until further notice’

Coach tour operator Shearings has paused new bookings “until further notice”.

A notice on the company’s website said the company had made the decision as a result of the impact of the coronavirus crisis on business and the future uncertainty surrounding travel.

A spokesman for the company said: “Due to the significant impact of Covid-19 on the company and the uncertainty around government imposed travel restrictions and deliverability, no new bookings for future travel will be taken until further notice.

“The company continues to amend bookings for customers unable to travel during the lockdown period up to and including June 16 2020.

“All affected customers can transfer their bookings to a future travel date or receive a Holiday Credit Note which can be redeemed against a future holiday at a later date.”

Last month, Hoseasons confirmed it had paused trade bookings as it focused on existing customers.

Shearings owner Specialist Leisure Group recently confirmed it is in discussions with stakeholders, advisors and the government, including the sourcing of financial support, to weather the “storm of Covid-19”.
