Silversea extends cruise cancellations

Silversea Cruises has extended its pause in operations until July due to the Covid-19 crisis.

The luxury line plans to resume sailings with the ship Silver Muse on July 16.

This will be followed by Silver Spirit on July 17, Silver Whisper on July 18, Silver Cloud on July 20, Silver Explorer on July 23 and Silver Shadow from July 26.

Silver Wind will not return to service until November 11.

The announcement was made on Tuesday after the line confirmed the delayed launch of new ships Silver Moon and Silver Origin.

Those booked on cancelled voyages will receive a 125% cruise fare refund in the form of a future cruise credit valid for two years.

The company said: “The health, safety and wellbeing of our guests and crew is always our highest priority.

“We greatly appreciate the understanding of our valued guests and travel partners during these fluid, unprecedented and challenging times.

“Our goal during these times of uncertainty is to be in constant communication with them, to make sure they have the most up-to-date information and can make informed decisions.”
