Wendy Wu Tours hosts virtual tours online

Wendy Wu Tours is hosting a series of online tours for agents and customers to take virtual trips from home during the coronavirus lockdown.

The operator’s Around the World from your Armchair series is designed to “awaken the wanderlust” within the trade and help them brush up on knowledge of its destinations during the coronavirus pandemic and resulting travel restrictions.

Each session is hosted by a Wendy Wu Tours expert who guides viewers through attractions and experiences found in each destination. Every episode ends with a live Q&A session.

John Warr, global sales director at Wendy Wu Tours, said: “It’s so important to keep spirits high during these difficult times, not only for our customers but also for fellow industry experts. As we find ourselves with a little more time at home than usual, we thought what better way to inspire future adventures than a virtual trip to the amazing destinations that await once travel opens up again. We’ve seen a great level of engagement with these online sessions so far and we’re sure this will continue for the next ones.”

The online tours have taken more than 500 customers and 200 agents on virtual trips to China and Japan on its first three sessions, across two days.

Upcoming virtual tours include chances to ‘see’ India and Sri Lanka, Southeast Asia and Central Asia, and learn about private group touring.
