Coronavirus: WTTC postpones annual summit

The World Travel & Tourism Council has postponed its annual summit in Mexico until the autumn as coronavirus takes its toll on the industry.

The event, which was due to be held on April 221-23, will now take place in early autumn in Cancun to allow the sector “time to recover from the current Covid-19 outbreak and its impact”.

WTTC president and chief executive Gloria Guevara said: “We stand in solidarity with governments, countries and organisations which are being affected by Covid-19 and look forward to hosting our global summit in the autumn.
