Norwegian launches its first UK service to Greek mainland

Norwegian will start a new non-stop service on May 3, linking Gatwick and Aktion airport, which serves the less well-known Greek destinations of Preveza and Lefkada.

The service will operate on Thursdays and Sundays for the summer season, until October 1, and one-way fares start at £60.50 one-way.

It is the airline’s first link to mainland Greece from the UK and will complement its existing Greek services to Rhodes, Kefalonia, Santorini and Crete.

Norwegian is also adding capacity to key European routes for this summer with extra weekly flights to Greece and Norway.

There will be a second weekly flight to Crete, a new morning departure on five days a week to Stavanger and an extension to the seasonal winter service to Tromso with two weekly flights in April, May, September and October.

Magnus Maursund, SVP commercial short-haul senior vice-president at Norwegian, said: “We are pleased to offer Brits more choice and flexibility when flying with Norwegian across Europe this summer by adding capacity to key services and a new route to Aktion airport.”
