Celebrity Cruises is set to host a particularly special VIP on its new vessel Celebrity Apex after it launches this spring.

Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow will join a wellness Mediterranean itinerary on August 30 as part of a new partnership between her lifestyle brand goop and the cruise line.

Paltrow and goop’s chief content officer Elise Loehnen will join the itinerary midway through the 11-night sailing to offer a ‘goop at Sea’ experience.

Passengers sailing on the cruise will have the chance to meet Paltrow, join a conversation between the star and Loehnen and attend a closing keynote talk.

In addition, three smaller group sessions – focusing on the body, mind and soul – will be included in the sailing’s onboard programme.

Tickets for goop at Sea went on sale this week and cost $750 for passengers who book suite-class accommodations. The cost is in addition to the price of the cruise, which starts from £1,874.

The voyage departs on August 26 from Barcelona, calling at ports such as Marseille, Nice, Rome, Naples and Palma de Mallorca.

Paltrow said: “This partnership with Celebrity Cruises allows us to bring goop to new audiences.
