Tui shops to sell Jet2holidays

Jet2holidays will be available through Thomson and First Choice shops for the first time following a distribution deal with Tui UK.

The tour operator subsidiary of airline Jet2.com, Jet2holidays will have brochures racked in “a top-tier position” in Thomson and First Choice agencies in the Midlands, north of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. It will also feature on Tui UK websites.

The deal, announced today, is the tour operator’s first with a multiple-agency chain.

Parent Jet2.com is based at Leeds Bradford and offers departures from eight airports across the north, including Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Its tour operator recently launched a dedicated brochure for Scotland and is forecast to double its annual sales of Atol-protected package holidays to 200,000 in 2011.

Jet2holidays managing director Steve Heapy said: “We are delighted Thomson and First Choice agents will now be able to sell Jet2holidays. Our dedicated trade team support agents closely and our trade website makes it possible for agents to view the best deals.”

Tui UK commercial and trading director Helen Deegan said: “Jet2holidays is a quality product and service which offers our customers a wide range of destination choices from their local airport.”

New Tui UK managing director Johan Lundgren revealed plans in July to increase sales around regional airports, telling Travel Weekly: “We are increasing our presence around regional airports in areas where we have a lower market share than we feel we should.”
