Abercrombie & Kent chief executive steps down

Abercrombie & Kent Group chief executive Amerigo Perasso has stepped down.

Co-chairman Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio has become chief executive.

Perasso joined the business earlier in the year in an advisory role to help oversee the sale of A&K to Lefebvre d’Ovidio’s Heritage Group.

The deal saw Lefebvre d’Ovidio, who is also Silversea Cruises’ executive chairman, take an 85% stake in A&K, while founder Geoffrey Kent increased his share to 15%.

Perasso was made chief executive in August, replacing Kent, while the business went through an “integration period”.

Perasso is a former Silversea boss and lawyer. In recent years he has served as an advisor on mergers and acquisitions to investment funds and private investors.

A spokesman for Abercrombie & Kent said: “Amerigo Perasso joined the Heritage Group to advise and support on the purchase of the majority stake of Abercrombie & Kent.

“Amerigo later took on the CEO role of A&K during the transition and integration period. With this now complete, Amerigo has stepped down from the role of CEO at A&K to focus on other projects commencing in January 2020.”

A&K acquired rival luxury operator Cox & Kings earlier this month for an undisclosed sum and has pledged to safeguard all jobs and current and future bookings.
