Explore steps out with seven new walking holidays

Explore has unveiled seven new walking holidays for 2020, including tours taking clients off the beaten track in Azerbaijan, Dominica and Bhutan.

The Azerbaijan Caucasus Walking small group tour features the capital Baku and Xinaliq – the country’s highest inhabited village.

Prices for the nine-day holiday start at £1,650 including flights, accommodation with breakfast, some meals and an Explore leader.

The new Walking in Bhutan trip features Kathmandu, Himalayan monastic festivals, the famous Tiger’s Nest monastery, and the chance to see Everest on a flight to Paro.

The 12-day escorted tour costs from £3,999, including flights, accommodation and some meals.

The Caribbean Island Walking – Dominica holiday explores the rainforests, mountains and hot springs and is Explore’s first walking tour in the Caribbean.

The 10-day holiday start from £2,799 including flights.

There are also new short-haul options in the programme, featuring Tuscany, Turkey and Morocco.

The eight-day Walking Trails of Hidden Tuscany holiday explores the Unesco World Heritage landscapes of the Tuscan Riviera in Cinque Terre; the Orecchiella Natural Park in the Apennine mountains; and climb Monte Prado, Tuscany’s highest peak.

It costs from £1,199 including flights and B&B accommodation.

Walking Turkey’s Turquoise Coast includes trips to lesser-visited beaches that can only be accessed on foot, and the Unesco World Heritage site of Xanthos.

The Walking in Morocco – Atlas to Atlantic holiday features the Atlas mountains, the coast of Agadir and accommodation in a traditional Moroccan Riad.

The eight-day trip starts from £799 including flights and B&B accommodation.
