Farewell to Freedom party planned by former members

A Farewell to Freedom party is planned for former members of the consortium hit with the collapse of owner Thomas Cook.

An organising committee of former Freedom Travel Group and homeworking Personal Travel Advsors members has been formed to organise the event, due to be held ay the Pride Park stadium in Derby on December 1.

Committee member Ian Gilder, of Harlow-based Adore Cruises, is appealing for sponsors to come forward to support the party.

Gilder, who has since joined Hays Travel Independence Group, said: “Thank you from all of us for your support during recent weeks as we have all come to terms with the loss of Thomas Cook and Freedom Travel Group.

“Freedom members and Freedom PTAs were hit particularly hard. On September 23 we lost all systems and head office support, our ability to trade, and our hard-earned commissions from months of work.

“In the face of adversity, the Freedom members and PTAs have supported each other day and night and worked tirelessly to ensure the best possible outcomes for our customers. Sadly, some of our members and PTAs have been unable to continue trading which is heart-breaking.

“I think you will agree that by supporting us through this you now have the most loyal partners in the industry and without a doubt some of the best and bravest.

“So, we would love you to join us at this very special event to come together to say Farewell to Freedom as we look back at some amazing times spent together and look forward to new beginnings as we all move on to various consortia.”
