Faremine introduces Fare Families and offers ancillaries

Faremine has introduced a new Fare Families concept and has upgraded its system to offer airline ancillaries.

Its “groundbreaking” Fare Family search allows agents to compare prices of fares in economy with or without packaged extras for 45 airlines.

The consolidator says this offers upselling opportunities within the booking and gives agents more control.

It has also made its system compatible to sell flights from New Distribution Capability (NDC)-ready airlines.

Commercial director Phil Pritchard said: “We are not the first to attempt to display fare families and ancillaries, but we are 100% confident our technology is the best in the industry and surpasses, by far, any other system out there.

“Our groundbreaking, advanced design allows the viewer to immediately compare different airline’s fare families in a way no other consolidator has achieved, using each airline’s own terminology and branding, for example, Virgin Atlantic’s ‘Light’, ‘Classic’ and ‘Delight’ options alongside the product description each airline has loaded into GDS.

“This is major news for the airlines as they will benefit from increased revenue on the extra fare packages on each booking through Faremine’s distribution of all their available fare bundles to our national agent and tour operator client base.  We already have 45 major UK airlines’ branded fares in our system and we can immediately display new ancillaries and other airlines’ fare bundles as they follow suit.

“This new breakthrough in fare delivery fortifies our position in leading the scheduled flight specialist industry through technological advancement backed by genuine travel expertise, service and integrity.”

All Fare Family and ancillary page views on Faremine’s online flight reservation system until December 31 are automatically entered into a prize draw to win a pair of Virgin Atlantic tickets.
