Ex P&O Ferries sales and marketing director Peter Stratton has been appointed as head of new business development for The Albatross Group.

He is tasked with developing the group’s Kent-based business with Disneyland Paris and will be looking at acquisitions.

The travel group’s brands include UK operator Albatross Travel, Australasia operator to Europe Albatross Tours, private and group operator Success Tours, self-drive operator Scenic Car Tours and Door2Tour which specialises in coach and escorted holidays.

Stratton, who joined on October 1,  previously held roles as marketing and sales director for Eurotunnel and managing director of the wholesale, group and retail subsidiaries of the Cruise & Maritime Voyages Travel Group, parent of cruise line CMV.

He owned travel industry executive recruitment specialist Simpson Recruitment, which he will continue to oversee.

Stratton has spent the last 20 years involved with numerous consulting projects assisting with growth and business strategies for both travel and non-travel companies.
