Legoland New York confirms opening date

Legoland New York will open its gates on American Independence Day in 2020.

Parent company Merlin Entertainments says the resort will open on July 4 next year, and said it will the “largest Legoland theme Park it has ever built”.

Legoland New York is slates to include more than 50 rides, shows and attractions across seven themed lands.

The 150-acre resort will be located in the Hudson Valley and feature a 250- room Legoland hotel which will open in 2021, the Dragon rollercoaster and Legoland Driving School like the one found in lands themed across Lego brands including Ninjago, Lego City and Lego Pirates.

Legoland New York public relations manager Matt Besterman said: “At Legoland theme parks, families can ride, climb, play, learn and build together. At the same time, kids can celebrate their own independence by riding their first roller coaster, the Dragon, or driving their first car at Legoland Driving School. We’re thrilled to invite families across the northeast, the country and the world to make our theme park a tradition for summer fun.”

Legoland has also announced a resort in Sichuan, China due to open in 2023, and a park in Korea, which is scheduled for 2022.
