Suntransfers.com hopes to “break into the B2B arena” with the appointment of Andy Baker as global partnerships director.
Baker, who has worked for bed banks YouTravel and MedHotels, is to join the B2C European ground transportation firm in November from rival Holiday Taxis, where he has been director of UK sales and responsible for trade partnerships.
Barcelona-based Suntransfers.com was formed in 2008 and claims to be ‘one of the largest B2C airport transfer providers in Europe’.
Baker will report into Suntransfers.com’ managing director Nathan Timmins, who said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have Andy joining us to lead the B2B team on this exciting journey.
“We’ve successfully built our business based on great value and unrivalled customer service over the last 11 years, and his appointment will be the first of many as we look to expand products and services to help us widen our distribution chain.
“We’ve got a number of developments planned over the coming months which will enable us to be best placed to become the leading independent supplier to the trade.”
Suntransfers.com has had a travel agent portal but sales through the trade up to now have only made up a “very small percentage of our business”.
