Spanish authorities issue ‘extreme risk’ weather warning

Spain’s meteorological agency has issued an “extreme risk” weather warning for the regions of Valencia, Alicante, Murcia and Almeria.

It forecasts torrential rain, flash floods and disruption and delays to transport services in the popular tourist destinations on Thursday, September 12 and Friday, September 13.

The UK foreign office updated its travel advisory for Spain on Thursday to warn holidaymakers to follow the advice of local authorities.
