Hugh Wood to depart Disneyland Paris after decade

Disneyland Paris vice president of sales, marketing and distribution, Hugh Wood, has stepped down after ten years at the company.

Wood, who was responsible for the UK Parks and Resorts business between 2008 and 2014, before taking on a more international role for the French theme park, is leaving for personal reasons, but hopes to stay within the travel industry.

He said: “After ten wonderful years in a great business and five privileged to lead a fantastic team across EMEA, I’ve had to make a choice between relocating with family to Paris or pursuing my career outside the business. It is with some sadness that I have chosen the second.

“So I’ll be taking some time off over the summer but looking for the right next role, still I hope in the travel sector.”

Before joining Disney, Wood was head of sales and marketing at Pizza Hut UK & Ireland between 2006 and 2008.

He also held roles at Procter & Gamble, CitiGroup and Diageo 99-05.
