Shearings Holidays has added six new US escorted tours to its 2020 Worldwide programme, bringing its American range up to 13.
Highlights include the 16-day National Parks Explorer, which visits the national parks of Yellowstone (pictured), Grand Teton, Canyonlands, Arches and Capitol Reef as well as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Reno. It costs from £4,039.
Bright Lights and Western Highlights features New York plus destinations in the west including San Francisco, Yosemite, Fresno, Las Vegas, Palm Springs and Los Angeles. The 14-day tour costs from £2,519.
A 15-day Gone with the Wind tour costs from £2,579 and visits sites associated with the famous novel and film, while Eastern Discovery takes clients to New York, Boston, Washington DC, Philadelphia and the Niagara Falls, for £2,479 for 13 days.
There are two six-day city breaks – one in Los Angeles from £1,135 and one in San Francisco from £1,269.
All prices are on a twin-share basis, and include flights.
Matthew Herbert, product and yield director, said the Colours of New England tour – introduced for autumn 2019 – is Shearings’ best-selling tour across its worldwide programme, as it “ticks off a bucket-list wish for many”.
He said the operator is also seeing growing demand for tour extensions, booked alongside escorted tours.
“Customers want the fully organised touring itinerary, but we are being asked more and more to tailor-make extensions,” said Herbert.
“Rather than just booking extra hotel nights, we are now adding on excursions and experiences so that their trip is totally tailored to their requirements.”
