Ryanair carryings climb by 8%

Ryanair carryings grew by eight per cent in May to 13.5 million passengers over the same month last year.

Overall numbers grew by 13% to 14.1 million when Austrian subsidiary Lauda was included.

The Irish no-frills carrier achieved a load factor of 96% while Lauda was at 94%.

Ryanair operated almost 78,000 flights in the month.

The figures gave Ryanair Holdings a rolling annual total of 144.9 million passengers, a rise of 10%.
