Barrhead’s Catriona Parsons steps down

Catriona Parsons has left her position as cruise business development director at Barrhead Travel.

The independent agency chain, headquartered in Glasgow, thanked Parsons for her work in a statement and said an internal restructure would be announced shortly.

Parsons worked for Barrhead for nearly 14 years and will start at healthcare company Optical Express on Monday (June 3).

At the end of last year, Barrhead reported “double-digit” growth in cruise sales, citing luxury and river cruise as the key drivers.

Barrhead appointed former managing director Jacqueline Dobson was promoted to president in January following Sharon Munro’s departure after 28 years with the company.

Barrhead was acquired by US travel giant Travel Leaders in 2018.

A spokeswoman for Barrhead said: “We would like to thank Catriona for all her hard work and her contribution over the years. We wish her all the best in the future.”
