Qatar Airways goes triple daily from Gatwick

Three daily flights for the peak summer season will be operated by Qatar Airways from Gatwick.

Frequency to Doha is being raised from 16 flights a week following the introduction of the link a year ago.

The triple daily flights start on June 29 and run until October 1 using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft in a two-class configuration.

The airline has flown more than 130,000 passengers on the Gatwick route in its first year.

Popular onward destinations from Doha include Colombo, Bali, Bangkok and Perth.

Qatar Airways UK and Ireland country manager Gary Kershaw said: “We have been really impressed with the performance of the London Gatwick route since the first flight a year ago today, which is why we are increasing our frequency to three flights per day for the summer.

“As highlighted at the time, never before had Qatar Airways launched with two flights per day – so this is really a history-making route for us.”
