Leger expands offering for solo travellers

Escorted tours specialist Leger Holidays has eight new trips in its latest brochure for solo travellers.

Prices for the new tours start at £499 for the four-day Lille & Bruges Christmas Markets coach tour in December 2019.

Other new coach tours include Beautiful Rovinj (nine days from £995) and Wonders of Rome & Pompeii (seven days from £829).

All Quiet on the Western Front visits World War One sites in Belgium and France next March (five days from £669).

Ashley Dellow, head of retail sales, said: ‘The single traveller market continues to grow at a rapid pace. More people are growing in confidence to travel alone, or with friends but wanting their own room at the end of the day.

“Many more hotels and destinations offer rooms without single room supplements which for many years were an obstacle.”

The brochure offers holidays up to November 2020 and a £50 per person low deposit.

Leger’s main programme has also seen new additions for 2019 and 2020.

Tours to Second World War sites now include the Battle of the Bulge 75th Anniversary, which will visit commemoration events in Belgium and Luxembourg.

The four-day coach tour departs on December 12 2019 and costs from £349.

Others include D-Day Landings In Normandy – five days from £689 in September 2019 – and Wings of Freedom, which visits an airshow in the Netherlands that commemorates the Allied Liberation. The four-day trips cost from £369 and departs in August 2019.

Another escorted coach tour combines visits to battlefields with trips to Christmas markets in France and Belgium. The four-day Christmas Markets in Ypres & Lille and Battlefields of the Western Front tour costs from £349, departing December 2019.

Other festive holidays include a New Year cruise on the Rhine (£789 per person) and Medieval Amiens & Rouen Christmas Markets, which costs from £329 for four days.
