Universal teases ‘world’s first story coaster’ in Harry Potter world

Universal Orlando Resort has revealed further details on its upcoming Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, dubbing it the world’s first “story coaster”.

The resort is calling the ride its “most highly-themed and immersive coaster experience to date”, featuring detailed set pieces and a forest of 1,200 newly-planted trees.

Located in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, riders will follow a story while experiencing a total of seven launches, the most of any roller coaster in the world, a 17-foot free-fall vertical drop, and a catapult 65 feet in the air.

It will also be Florida’s longest coaster at almost a mile in length.

Guests will enter the ride through ruins behind Hagrid’s hut. During the experience they will ride Hagrid’s motorcycle and encounter magical creatures as they explore the forbidden forest. The ride will open on June 13.
