Sixth ship added to Ace convention

Delegates at this year’s Ace UK Cruise Convention are to be given the opportunity to visit Compagnie du Ponant’s new ship on the final day of the event.

The French line has recently joined Ace, and its new-build Le Boreal will be in Southampton on Saturday, June 26, following its christening and inaugural voyage at the start of May.

The inclusion of the 264-passenger Le Boreal means agents will have the chance to visit a record six ships during this year’s convention.

P&O Cruises’ Azura, Celebrity Eclipse, Norwegian Epic and Cunard’s QM2 will also be in port between June 24 and June 26, while Crown Princess will be available for pre-convention visits on Wednesday, June 23.

Ace director Flo Powell said: “Compagnie du Ponant has just become an Ace member and it is great news that travel agents will have the opportunity to see first hand this very glamorous super-yacht.”

Claire Hancer, UK sales director for Compagnie du Ponant, added: “We are thrilled to have this opportunity to showcase our new super-yacht, the 264-passenger Le Boreal.

“The 140m yacht will be visiting Southampton for just a few hours but will offer agents the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the standard of our product which can only assist them greatly in generating future sales enquiries for us.”

An early-bird ticket rate of £60 for Ace members and £70 for non-members is available for the convention until March 15. For more details, go to ukcruiseconvention.org.
