If Only honours 40 top agents at luxury awards

Trade-only luxury tour operator If Only held its annual Luxury Agent Awards in Glasgow, where 40 of its top-performing sellers were honoured.

The operator, based in the Scottish city, presented 10 awards at the event on Thursday, May 9, its best-attended awards event so far.

Julie Harrison from Bespoke Luxury Travel won the award for Top Performing Homeworker, meanwhile Top New Agency 2019 went to Triangle Travel.

The Top Performing Agency of the Year was presented to Meon Valley Travel and Colchester Travel won the Winner of Winners award, which is awarded to an agency who has not just achieved top sales, but is also a loyal supporter of If Only.

Guests were shown around If Only’s offices in Glasgow for a meet and greet as well as having the opportunity to network with industry colleagues at the event.

They were also treated to afternoon tea at the five-star Blythswood Square Hotel before a drinks reception, dinner and the award presentations.

If Only chief executive, Andy Freeth said: “The importance of the day for us is to say ‘thank you’, to recognise people that have given us a large chunk of their business, and to show the value of that relationship. It’s also a great opportunity for our partners to mingle with the trade and get valuable feedback.

Freeth added: “I think it’s really important for us to get the opportunity to hear first hand from travel agents what products they want us to enhance and what areas of the business they want us to focus on.”

Gordon McCreadie, If Only sales and marketing director said: “These awards go to agents in each area of a certain category who have done the largest volume of bookings in the last 12 months.

“Customers who deliver volume within If Only are amazing supporters of the brand, extremely loyal and extremely vocal in how they want the business to progress. We want to recognise that and show them our appreciation that the efforts they put in are recognised.”

Freeth and McCreadie confirmed that the awards will return next year.
