Tui expands from Newcastle with Morocco route

The Moroccan resort of Agadir is being offered as a new destination by Tui for summer 2020 from Newcastle airport.

The first Tui flight from Newcastle to Agadir will depart in May next year. The weekly service will run on Thursdays.

The addition means that the operator TUI is offering flights to 25 destinations for summer 2020 from the north-east.

The RIU Palace Tikida Beach adults-only hotel in Agadir is being rebranded as the Tui Sensimar Tikida Beach later this year ready for the new route from Newcastle next summer.

Prices for a seven night all-inclusive holiday from Newcastle start at £732 per person based on two adults sharing departing on May 7, 2020.

Tui UK and Ireland aviation planning director Karen Switzer said: “We are really pleased to be adding Agadir to the summer 2020 programme from Newcastle airport.

“We are always looking to add routes to the programme that we know our customers will enjoy and we’re delighted to be providing holidaymakers with even more choice and the opportunity to experience our wide range of hotel concepts and great destinations from their local airport.”

Airport chief operating officer Richard Knight added: “I am extremely pleased that Tui have continued their investment in the region by adding this brand new route for summer 2020.

“Morocco offers an exciting new destination option for our passengers and I’m sure that the wide choice of resorts, fantastic weather and Blue Flag beaches will be a real hit with the north-east travelling public.”
