TTNG to promote staycations

The Travel Network Group will help agents to capitalise on the domestic short breaks market at its first ‘How To’ training event for members.

The initiative was announced last month at the consortium’s conference in Budapest and the first event will be on April 30 in Birmingham.

Hoseasons, Premier Holidays, Shearings and Super Break will support the event, which is designed to help agents learn more about different sectors, in order to boost sales.

Vim Vithaldas (pictured), newly appointed to the role of chief operating officer of The Travel Network Group, said: “British consumers on average take three to four holidays a year, with 26% of people in the UK taking a UK short break only, and 40% taking a UK short break and another holiday overseas.

“We believe that there is more opportunity for agents to leverage a greater share of the market, and this event is intended to help them improve their knowledge of the sector and ultimately drive further sales.”

Future ‘How To’ events in 2019 will cover the sales of ancillaries, touring, luxury holidays, and peaks.
