Abtot recruits development director from Abta

Julie Jones has left Abta to join the Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust as development director.

She most recently managed member services for Abta and has more than 20 years experience in the travel industry.

Membership director Samantha Bradbury said: “Abtot continues to strengthen both its membership base and the personnel who look after its members.

“Julie will bring a wealth of expertise and experience to a pivotal role within the organisation.

“She is both well-known and well respected in the industry and has been successful in driving Abta membership forward – I am confident she will do the same for Abtot.”

Jones added: “Abtot has been providing a straight forward financial protection solution for niche travel companies for the past 25 years.

“With new management and new aspirations it is an exciting time to join.

“As well as continuing to provide competitive one stop financial protection solutions we will be looking to expand our product allowing independent travel organisers to focus on running their travel businesses.”

The association has almost 190 members, with nearly 40 of fulfilling their Atol through the Abtot franchise. It is one of only three approved travel trade associations providing a financial protection scheme to its members.
