EasyJet increases Manchester lift

EasyJet will boost capacity from Manchester airport this summer with four new routes.

The budget carrier, which is to base five new aircraft at the airport, will fly to Jerez de la Frontera in Spain, Kalamata in Greece, Bari in Italy and Nice in France.

The four routes will carry over 50,000 passengers with the airline now operating 64 routes and over 26,000 flights to and from Manchester.

Jerez de la Frontera flights commence on August 17, flying thee times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with fares from £24.25 per person.

Kalamata flights will operate twice a week on Tuesday and Saturdays from June 15, priced from £23.24 per person. Bari flights will also operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays from £21.22 per person.

Passengers will be able to fly to Nice three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from June 16, with fares from £19.20 per person.

Julian Carr, aviation director at Manchester Airport, said: “It’s great to see easyJet adding new routes for summer 2019 offering our passengers an even wider choice of destinations to choose from for their holidays. Jerez de la Frontera is a new route for the airport and one that I’m sure will prove hugely popular with those looking for a true taste of Spain.”

The carrier will also boost services from Manchester to Budapest to three times a week and will add and additional flights per day on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays to Belfast.
