Cosmos launches its first UK tours

Escorted tour specialist Cosmos has unveiled its first range of UK trips to tap into growing demand for staycations.

The Cosmos tours offer accommodation in ‘comfortable mid-range’ hotels, while sister brand Globus offers a more ‘premium experience’ staying in centrally-located four and five-star hotels.

Janet Parton, UK and Ireland sales director at Cosmos, said: “The popularity of staycations is on the rise with more and more customers wanting to experience all that the UK has to offer, so there is no better time for Cosmos to introduce our new UK tours.

“We have six itineraries departing in 2019 across Cosmos and our sister brand Globus, to suit a range of budgets.

“All our guests have the expert guidance of a knowledgeable tour director on hand to help delve deeper into the destination, whether that be exploring the wilds of the Scottish Highlands, appreciating the serene beauty of the Lake District or going on a walking tour of Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon.”

Tour-only prices start at £885 for the seven-day Scottish Outlander Adventure, based on the September 15 departure.

It visits Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, and Bo’ness, where Outlander fans can see the railway station featured in the television series.

Other stops on the tour include Pitlochry, Culloden Moor and Inverness.

A 13-day England, Scotland & Wales tour with Cosmos takes customers to national parks in Northumberland, Brecon Beacons, Dartmoor, the Lake District and Snowdonia.

The holiday also visits York, Bath, Stratford-upon-Avon, Plymouth, Cardiff and Edinburgh. It costs from £1,423 per person, departing September 30.

The Bonnie Scotland tour by Globus begins with a guided tour of Glengoyne Whisky Distillery and a visit to Stirling Castle. Other highlights include the Isle of Skye, Loch Ness and Edinburgh.

Tour-only prices for the week-long holiday start at £1,139 per person, departing September 26.

From the Shannon to the Thames is a 13-day tour with Globus, beginning in Ireland, and taking in highlights across England, Scotland and Ireland.

It includes the Cliffs of Moher, Giant’s Causeway, the Titanic Experience in Belfast, Stratford-upon-Avon and Stonehenge.

In London, it includes sightseeing with a guide to see the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace.

Tour-only prices start at £1,969 per person based on the April 17 departure.
