Change at top of Ski Famille as managing director stands down

A change at the top of winter sports specialist Ski Famille has been made with managing director Chris Thompson standing down after 15 years.

He is being replaced at the end of March by Ian Hope, previously product development director with Hotelplan, Esprit Ski, Ski Total, Santa’s Lapland and Crystal Ski.

The changes were unveiled by Ski Famille chairman Peter Dyer, founder of Crystal Holidays and former owner of Ski Esprit and Ski Total.

Thompson, who is leaving the travel industry for a new career in technology, said: “Peter and I have worked really well together since his acquisition five years ago.

“During that time we have increased sales revenues by 300% and taken Ski Famille to a new level.

“After 15 years at Ski Famille and before that at Crystal and Thomson Holidays, I am looking for a career change.”

Dyer added: “Ian and I have worked together for many years at Esprit Ski, Ski Total, Santa’s Lapland and more recently at Inghams.

“We have a great team at Ski Famille and wkith Ian’s added energy and experience this is an exciting new chapter.”
