Obama to address WTTC

Barack Obama will address the World Travel and Tourism Council global summit in Seville in April.

Former US president Obama will be the keynote speaker at the WTTC’s annual summit in the Spanish city on April 2-4.

Obama was US President from 2009 to 2017 before being succeeded at the White House by Donald Trump.

The WTTC global summit has previously been addressed by former US President Bill Clinton.

WTTC president and chief executive Gloria Guevara said: “We are honoured to be hosting such an important leader as President Barack Obama at our Global Summit this year.

“During his time in office he embodied the notion that travel and tourism is a driver of economic growth and creator of jobs.

“His vision will help us to shape the future of this important sector.”

The 2019 WTTC Global Summit will take place in Seville on April 2-4, hosted by the Ayuntamiento of Seville, Turismo Andaluz and Spanish tourism organisation Turespaña.
