Worldchoice founder member John Auren dies

Former travel agent and founder member of Worldchoice John Auren has died aged 88.

Auren, who specialised in selling group tours to South Africa, ran Ashley Adams Travel in Yorkshire having started his career at Thomas Cook in the 1950s.

He was one of the founder members of The Active Travel Group, later called ARTAC and now known as the WorldChoice Group.

He went on to set-up Discover Africa which was renamed Southern Africa Travel, based in York and was a founder member of Satoa.

Later in life Auren promoted Shamwari Private Game Reserve.
