Abu Dhabi names new UK and Ireland tourism chief

Jane Dawkins has been promoted to UK and Ireland country manager for Abu Dhabi tourism.

She was previously senior trade executive with the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, where she oversaw the trade and marketing campaigns from its London office.

A restructure in the office follows the move of former country manager, Nabeel Al Zarouni, back to Abu Dhabi in late 2017 to become regional manager for the Middle East and Africa.

Dawkins will report to Detlef Haner, regional manager for Europe and the America from the DCT Abu Dhabi German office in Munich.

She will oversee a team of four who cover trade, MICE and PR.

Abu Dhabi has seen strong growth in the past year and the UK remains the third largest market for the Middle East destination.

Dawkins has worked for DCT Abu Dhabi in London for more than four years, previously represented tourist boards and travel brands at marketing and PR agency Hills Balfour.
