Independent agency group Hays Travel has been named ‘Apprentice Employer of the Year’ at the Investors in People awards.
The awards celebrate employee management practices among businesses that have accreditation from Investors in People – an independent, not-for-profit company that helps organisations to support and manage staff.
The 2018 winners were announced at a recent awards ceremony in London, hosted by comedian Russell Kane.
Jane Schumm, Hays Travel retail and training director, said: “We are extremely proud of our apprenticeship programme and the success it brings to individuals and to our organisation as a whole.
“Winning the IIP Apprentice Employer of the Year award is yet another highlight of a fantastic year at Hays Travel, which has included being recognised in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For list and achieving our £1 billion sales landmark.”
She added: “At Hays Travel we believe apprenticeships are vital to our business. Apprentices inject the organisation with energy, ideas, enthusiasm, and interest.
“We in turn provide first-rate training, support and clear development progression routes, resulting in invaluable long-term team members.”
Paul Devoy, head of Investors in People, said: “I commend Hays Travel for their dedication to improving the quality of work for their employees. Congratulations to Hays Travel on becoming 2018’s Apprentice Employer of the Year.”
